To some degree I have always been an artist. Seems sort of an integral feature heading down the timeline back to my early years. Producing art, especially painting, generally had to take a back seat to the realities of daily life. I don't think that reality is much different for me than it is for most working folk. Potentially that is okay as it forces one to realize priorities and what matters amidst the noise around us.

So now at age 78 I can do what I want and I want to pursue and devote time to things that matter.. my wife, our kids, our dog muses and my painting.

I am not a terribly fast painter. I don't generally paint outdoors. I studied and developed to some extent a layered method generally involving glazing and scumbling and a lot of old school painter stuff. I'm still working on developing a looser more individual style but if there ever gets to be a point where I figure I know and have learned it all I'll stop. Things are done when they are done and if I don't have at least a decent respect for the effort it will never be shown on this site.

I'll add what seems okay as often as possible and hopefully this is a spot you will like to return to.. ..
